Public Announcement – The Mosque and Islamic Centre of Brent (“MICB”)
Wednesday 19 March 2020
Further to the announcement of restricted opening times and stringent measures for the protection of our community, a further meeting was held today on the 19 March 2020.
Having taken into consideration official guidance, and with emphasis on the minimisation of social contact and avoidance of gatherings, we have taken the decision to close all activities at the Mosque and Islamic Centre of Brent effective from 9pm Thursday March 19th 2020.
This is a temporary suspension and is a precautionary measure to minimise the spread of the Coronavirus among the community.
What does this mean?
Prayers
There will be no daily congregational prayers, and no Friday prayer. The Madrassah and other activities have already been closed as of Wednesday this week.
At this moment in time it cannot be determined when the Mosque will reopen, we will continue to follow directives and will advise when it is safe to resume operations.
We hope all sections of our community appreciate the scale of the crisis we are now facing as a nation and the importance of playing our part in breaking the transmission of this virus.
Please continue to adhere to the hygiene advice of not touching your face without washing your hands regularly for 20 seconds. And please do take the religious and medical precautions. One of the Sunnah supplications for protections is most effective:
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
“I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of that which He has created.”
May Allah make things easy for all
