History
Due to the architecture of the church, renovations and refurbishments were carried out over time to the exterior and the interior of the building to adapt it to a Mosque whilst retaining its existing structure. In 2005 major works and restorations took place. Noticeable restorations include the spire being changed into a Minaret with green domes and major refurbishment works to the interior. Once the works were completed, an official opening ceremony to mark the ‘new look’ of the Mosque which was carried out by the Honourable Lord Nazir Ahmed of Rotherham.
